This has become my new best friend. I will absolutely be buying more of these. They are so easy to use, space-saving, and affordable. I store many videos for education purposes, employee orientation, in-services, etc, as well as for my personal use. These work well for the size of my video files, plus allow me to keep separate drives for ebooks, organizational records, and topics that I teach, which makes it so much easier to organize my files and just grab-and-go with everything I need for a given day's teaching materials, including rosters, handouts, student forms. They are much more compact than my former devices, so ALL of them can be stored in a single small zippered pouch in my file cabinet.

Was looking for a USB thumb drive and found this Usb at a competitive price and according to other reviews, good read speeds and OK writing speeds. The drive looks very nice and it is quite small (not as small as some of those nano drives, but still very small). The speed I measured with Crystal Mark came out at: Read = 140+ MB/s and Writing = 30 MB/s. I think at this price, this is a great drive.

I got this when I was starting a new embedded PC project, and have over the week or so had to flash maybe 50 times, each time writing a new OS to the drive, then booting from it and installing from it. It's fast and has worked flawlessly.

This USB 3.0 is very nice and fast writes. And small but not to small. I was able to write 219GB to this drive using one command file with no errors. Over 20K files over 200GB of files one try all files copied as fast as expected and all files look good.

I ordered a couple of these because of their size and speed plus the reputation has come to be known for. I was not disappointed with my purchase. The flash drive is very compact and can easily be carried on key chain or lanyard. The speed of the 3.0 is good also, my times for transfer or copying of files has been reduced by a good 70%-80%.

I’ve had this thumb drive for over 1 years, still works great. Fastest one I’ve used too. It does get hot, but that doesn’t bother me, as long as it works. I recently accidentally ran it through the washer and dryer and it still works! LOST NO DATA!

Bought this USB to store my VST's, waves, Plugin Alliance ect dll files on this and it works great for that purpose as well as keeping other documents, photos, videos, music. If your a music producer or musician mixing your own music and need to store your vst's somewhere I recommend this USB.

After using for quite a while. This is able to handle some pretty good amount of writes. Normally you may see some slow down in transfer speeds but I’ve written over 2 terabytes to this flash drive and read about the same off and it’s holding strong.

I found it to be a great USB. I'd buy another one if I need it. Love the size actually. Saw some people say it gets pretty warm or hot. I did find that it did get warm if used on my Mac, but on my PC and in an external USB hub, cool as a cucumber. No loss of data and pretty fast.

As a photographer I have given about 500 of these to my clients over the last three years and the just work. I havent seen one single failure yet and they are fast! USB 3.0 gets great transfer rates. because they have a metal case they do get hot while in use. Dont be alarmed. Plastic case drive do that too you just feel it because the plastic insulates.

It's prob my fav. its small and has a metallic feel to it so its perfect when i use it for work.(cnc machines) and works great loding stl files from your computer or whatever you wish to write on it.. had a cheap plastic one and it would take 5 min to load a program but this only takes about a minute.. great product just put it on a lanyard so ya dont loose it..

this thing is TINY, like maybe 2nd knuckle of your pinky finger to tip - tiny, and very narrow. Its small. Better put it in a plastic box with your other USB Keys. Surprisingly, you can write on it in permanent marker and it sticks. So, if you are going to make recovery key or some such, it is perfect.

What is important is the speed and this thing is super fast. 6 times faster than my USB 2.0. I tested it by adding the same file to this USB drive and my old USB drive. It took 2 minutes to upload the file to this USB drive and 12 minutes to my old USB drive. If saving time is your main focus, buy it.

Based on other reviews, we did not have any major issues with heat. I keep mine plugged into a MacBook Pro for the whole day and it does stay warm, probably a good thing to dissipate the heat as it has metal casing. But I see no performance issues. Bought 2 more 128gb drives like this and these are also used similarly on other computers. Would recommend and would buy again.

This thing is fantastic. Plugged it in and was able to very quickly drag and drop files. It was a lot smaller than I expected, but that was a pleasant surprise since I didn't need another giant dongle sticking out of my computer.

Super easy to use once you figure out how. I have to say it does a great job, once you figure it out it’s really easy to use, and it holds a lot of files! Easy to download the files to a new location once they’re on the usb as well. Great product!

I’ve read several reviews and some weren’t too flattering. My experience is that it works great. Decent transfer speeds, was able to format it for my Mac and I can use it with TimeMachine. It’s much smaller than I expect. haven’t noticed any unusual heat from the drive.

I bought four of these for a work project upgrading software on about 100 user desktop PCs; the only issue we had was actually that most of the PCs were USB 2.0 and our USB-device scan protocol took longer than we'd like, but that's nothing against these devices, just the hardware. They were perfect for the job, because we couldn't connect too many of the machines to the host server at once or it would get bogged down transferring the software. Four people and we still probably wouldn't have finished in one day without these things. On the USB 3.0 machines, they were super fast!

I needed an external drive that is large enough to transfer all my iTunes data from one computer to another, and chose this particular one because I had a positive experience with 128 GB one. I was a bit concerned reading reviews by others about the heating issue but decided to order one anyway, and I am glad I did. It doesn't get that hot even after using for hours of transmitting data back & forth, and it is solidly made and simple to use - plug it in, create ID & PW for protection and copy/paste or drag/drop. And, the data transfer speed is super fast.

It works as it's supposed to, has the amount of storage it's supposed to, and I'm pleased with it. Of course it's going to get hot when in use, it's metal, which conducts heat. No problems so far. I copied, transferred, deleted all the data on the drive then reformatted the drive, RE: HEAT, I guess all these small capacity do the same. I really worked this 16GB out for six straight 6 hours copying 98 music files, editing & spot listening to all 98 tracks, spot listening to all 98 tracks, reediting 37 tracks, re listening to the 37 tracks then spot listening to all 98 tracks again. Then customized the number listing arrangement of all 98 tracks on the flash drive, then checking the spelling of all my selections.

Working as expected. After a large file transfer on a usb 3 port, it was a little warm, but not too bad. Faster transfer rates will result in higher temperatures. Having designed electronics for a career: if the parts inside are getting warm, the best way to get the heat out is using metal. With plastic, the part inside will be hotter and the outside of the plastic will be cooler. Also, for plastic at the same temperature as metal, the metal will feel hotter to the touch since it transmits heat to your finger faster. I suspect the metal case is simply doing its job keeping the parts inside cool, but people are used to plastic sticks.

Copying files to them went quickly and they're very portable, even better if you attach them to a lanyard or a keychain. This is extremely well rated - you know you're not getting cheap memory that will get corrupted & lose all your files.

I got the 128 GB version and it holds the right amount of stuff that I need. As a videographer, it's handy to have a place where I can dump everything and have a backup of each event. I highly recommend this product if you want something that is easy to use and is a great value for your money. Makes a great boot drive for installing Linux Mint. Real nice form factor and easy to grasp for removal. The read speed is decent at 145mb/sec, but the write is slow at 25mb/sec. I wish they made the same form factor with higher read and write.

I'm using this to store mp4 files. My transfer rate is fast with big file (3gb file transfers at 2mb per second). The drive is small and easy to take with you when you are going out. You can store anywhere such as purse, backpack, pocket, binder, and other places being that it's small. I would buy this again, in my humble opinion.

I've bought several SanDisk products. They are all excellent in quality that I've never had any problems with them. For this particular one, the good thing is it has been pre-formatted to FAT32 which is good for both Windows and Mac. So, on either machine, you can just put it in and use, no need to go through the format process again.

The product works fine on Windows 8.1 and 10. No compatibility issues. I was skeptical about the advertised speed, but to my pleasant surprise (so far) it is great: 256GB for something below 7 min - I consider this good for my picture storage backup.

Let me start off by saying I have had no issues like what everybody has said in other reviews yes it gets warm but not hot so I'm not sure what they mean unless they have real delicate sensitive fingers. This device has worked to expectation for the purpose I use it for. It is way smaller then what I expected half the size of a regular flash drive but with great power.

The drive works at the advertised speeds, but it does get pretty hot. Since there is bare metal on the sides, you tend to notice/feel the heat more. Just let the drive sit for bit, if you transferring a lot of data.

The drive is extremely fast. Used the password protection and files were encrypted quickly with no problems. Only issue you have to run SanDisk SecureAccess to access program to enter password to open file. Program should open with request to enter password. Other than that no issues were noted.

Works great AFTER reformatting to NTSF to allow large (5Gb) movie file sizes. Got this drive for a DVD portable player BUT that machine only works up to 32Gb, ho well still works great as a backup drive.
