I am blown away with this product. I have a 15 foot high high pitched vaulted ceiling. There are 4 brown exposed beams with 4 feet of space between them. I tried taping and the white paint showed up on some of the beams. And behind on a 10 foot ladder added to the difficulty. When I tried the Accubrush, I wasn't expecting much. But I was surprised. It painting a great trim. Just like the ad claimed. It cut down my painting time and forget about that prep work. I am so happy I bought this XT, it is worth every penny.

But I am soooo glad I bought this. I will say that the cleaner your corners and trim are, the smoother the final result will be.

No. Was it just as good or better than I could do by hand in a quarter of the time? Absolutely. I watched the short instructional video and jumped right in. I finished edging two rooms with both accubrush devices and I'm thrilled. I had to paint a dark wall color against a white ceiling. I used the XT for the wall/ceiling edging and did not get any paint on the white ceiling. I saved tons of time and simply used my brush to edge the gaps on the end that the edger could not reach, which was no big deal. I used the MX to cut-in around the windows. Same result as the XT, fast, easy and no smears. The little brush is the innovation here and if you follow the video/instructions these devices are game-changers for painting.

This makes your painting projects so easy. It really does make it so you can paint up to the ceiling without getting paint on your ceiling! for me that's huge, because I usually don't have the patience to take a brush and slowly go across the entire room. This tool takes about 1/2 the time you would it you had to move the ladder every so many feet to get all the edges. LOVE IT! Buy it!! so simple to use and makes it so much easier to paint!

I've used this item a few times now painting various houses, and have been suitably impressed. It did take me a little while to get the hang of loading the roller, but once I got enough paint on it, it zips along quite nicely, just like in the video. It saves a lot of time.

Incredible.... for the all the bad reviews out there... be realistic and practice a little before you get frustrated and quit. I bought this for a stairway that was about 15 feet high. I practiced first on a lower ceiling line to get the hang of it and then did the high work. I was painting the wall brown against a white ceiling so I wanted a nice clean line. It worked great and was fairly simple to use.

Using as directed it is a fantastic tool. Any heavily textured area of course will no work as the guide itself is necessary. So popcorn ceilings are out... but base boards with proper use of edger by following the directions and keeping the excess paint from the littlebrush that is in the edger itself- gravity and to much paint equals run :) It is easy with a rag to wipe the little brush and doing 5 to 8 feet at a time is time off the knee is well worth the product price!

I was starting a whole house paint job and wanted to make the job go faster. I have used other products before and was not pleased with the results. The ACCUBRUSH proves to be worth it!!!! I was able to paint the long stretches of ceiling and baseboard very quickly. ( 100-130 ft or more in approx. 15 min) I also had to paint 2 cathedral ceilings. With my extension rod and from the floor, I could paint from 8ft to a few inches of the peak. I am happy with the product and its results. I would have a helper ready to clean the brush and roller for reuse. Maintaining your product will give the best long term results. And also save a few dollars for replacement brushes and rollers

Not many products live up to expectations. This product exceeded expectations. I've had painting crews with highly skilled painters for over 20 years and they can't cut a line as fast and straight as the Accubrush XT can. I highly recommend this product for both skilled and novice painters. Just don't let my competition know- I consider it my competitive advantage :)!

I have a home with two Story Vaulted cieilings and was so perplexed on how I would cut in the walls without paying a professional painter. I ordered accubrush and put it on an extension rod and cut in my 2 story walls no problem. It was so easy. It does not cover certain areas because when you get to the end of the wall there is a gap between the roller and the wall.

I have been searching for a method to cut in paint for years. I bought the Edge Master with trepedation after so many other ideas had failed. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. After a few practice swipes I was painting like a pro.

My family is so impressed, everyone wants to borrow it to paint their house. If you are on the fence about the Edge Master you should try it. I think the reviews are all positive and the results speak for themselves. I have never written a review on any product before but I was impressed enough to draft this for the Edge Master.

I love this little guy! If you have any sense for how much paint to put on your roller, you don't even have to tape before you do your cut-ins. Plus, your cut-in time is half of what you would spend without the Edge Master. Don't give up your 2" wedge brush, however. As you come to the corner at the end of the wall, I found that the accubrush couldn't finish the last 2-3 inches. A small problem when weighed against the pros of this tool. And yes, even your kids could handle trim around a window. As with any painting tool, clean right after use to avoid paint build up on edge, etc.

*Disclaimer: it was next to impossible to get it completely clean after a full day of use, but swapping out the roller and the little brush the next day to use a different color worked fine. The dried paint on the plastic parts was not an issue and the roller and brush popped right off at the end of the day.

I was a bit skeptical but it truly does work, the trick is in getting enough paint on the roller so the little brush will have paint to paint into the edge or corner.
If you have popcorn on your ceiling the brush cant reach the very edge since the popcorn does not let you get as close as one would like...although thinking about it if you extend the brush a bit further out it may work just fine.
If doing baseboards pay attention to what the instructions say... if the top is less then 1/4" it may be tricky to keep the device on track.

I bought this a few weeks ago and used it this weekend. It works perfectly and as advertised. I painted two rooms without using tape. I edged the wall to ceiling with popcorn ceilings and the edge didn't jump around (from the popcorn) like i thought it would. I edged all baseboards, around closets, doors, windows. It made for a quick job. No prep work other than laying down a drop cloth.
The only downside was that this doesn't edge right to the corner so you have to hand cut the small areas which isn't that big of a deal.

This edger is a miracle tool! I had read the good and bad reviews about this product and decided to buy it. AM I GLAD I DID. This edger is super easy to use and I went through an entire room top and bottom in under 45 minutes. Didn’t have problems with smudging or roller lines like some of the other people had complained about. As long as you keep this parallel to the wall it does it’s job! My ceiling aren’t perfectly straight either and with this edger it’s not even noticeable after... also took some advice from a previous reviewer who said he cut the roller nap at a 45 degree angle at the end to keep the paint neatly on the edge. Not sure how it works without cutting the roller but it took less than a minute to shave off the the excess with regular scissors so no biggie... all in all I’d recommend this to anyone wanting to save time on edging

For you do it your selfers. I went on YouTube and watched a video of 2 painters tear this thing apart. They sounded so negative that it made me want to try it. SO GLAD I DID. It was extremely easy to use, you just have to follow the directions. On bumpy surfaces I found it good to use the accubrush then use a good paint brush to make the edge a little cleaner. The trick I learned after almost finishing was after using the paint brush, go over the edge with the accubrush one more time to fill in the spots where the brush thinned the paint. It sounds like extra work but it will save you a ton of time. I did a video but took too lo g to upload.

I read the instructions and watched a video. I was surprised by how clean and straight the paint lines were. I painted 3 different ceiling trims, 6 window trims, and 8 door trims. Did not take long at all. The only misplaced paint was on my hand when I accidentally touched the roller- ha ha. Just follow the directions. (There is a place on the applicator that says to "press firmly here", and you need to do that) Very easy to use and I will use it again and again. Will save money and time by not using tape, etc. BTW, it passed my wife's inspection!

The Edge Master is amazingly simple, yet fabulously accurate. It uses the technique of providing a guide to guide the tool but then has the genius stroke of using a very small brush to fill the gap between the guard and the wall.
If you follow the steps in the accompanying video you can't go wrong with this product. I find I need two coats in most cases but then I'm a bit of a perfectionist.
Tip: Make sure you wipe the guard following each application, that way, there is no way you can get slip marks on the adjoining walls.
The guy who invented this product is a genius. I have looked for years for a solution to this problem and this is the best, and believe me, I've tried most of the edging gadgets available.
Now, if you could only invent a good corner edger to fill those edges I still have to do by hand, I'd be recommending the Nobel Prize for gadgets.

This worked amazingly well! I was expecting it to require some practice and patience, but instead I had no difficulties using it. I, being a novice painter was able to easily paint super straight lines along the ceiling and baseboards. The only thing that happened that was easily fixed was, we had ignored that it said that occasionally paint can build up (for us it built up on the yellow plastic, not the grey shield but the side opposite the grey shield) and we ignored the instructions that said to wipe it occasionally, and a couple drops of paint dripped on the floor. So just make sure to have your necessary dropcloth on the ground, and wipe the excess paint off occasionally so that it won't even drip at all. Besides that (which happened only twice) this thing worked PERFECTLY. I took the advice from a different review that it works great to have someone else follow you along with a roller to smooth out the little line of bulk paint along the inner wall after applying (if you happen to have loaded it with a lot of paint)---super easy. As the instructions say, apply more paint when going along the ceiling and less when going along the floor. We were able to get the job done so much faster!

I absolutely love this product. Not sure why it took me so long to find it. Here's my two cents and what I used it on. I just did my basement from floor to ceiling so keep in mind everything was new and fresh with old paint to worry about.
1) For the ceiling, it did a really great job. It's really all dependent on how well your corners were drywalled and what texture was used on your ceiling for it to get the tightest fit to the corner. I had a smooth ceiling so it was really easy to use. I can imagine a textured ceiling might present issues.
2) Along baseboard and trim, the product was absolutely brilliant!!! Perfectly cut and straight lines.
3) My only gripe is the fact that you really need to use their rollers. The roller itself locks into the edger and you can't find these rollers at any store that carries paint from what I can tell. Just for fun, I'm going to try out a standard roller for fun and see how well it actually stays on without rolling off.
I'd highly recommend anyone to use try out this edger as I couldn't be any happier. In fact, I'm going to order a bunch of extra brushes and rollers for it just so I have it on hand should I want to paint something else.

This is a very good tool for the price. Easy for me (female 66) to use. If I had it to do again I would buy the larger one that fits on a pole that way I would not have to keep moving the ladder. With the pole, you would never have to leave the floor.

This is THE BEST TOOL EVER.
It didn't take me long to get the hang of it - and like other reviews may have mentioned - load up the roller well with paint - it really helps. We painted the entire interior of a 3 bedroom home, including trim and ceilings in less than 5 days - while working full time.
So as glowing as this review is - I will say - i didn't care for the edger with the metal guard. A. it left marks and B. It really "handled" differently.
I plan on buying another for my next renovation (so we have two)

HUGE TIME SAVER This is an easy product to use and does a fantastic job. Within three minutes we learned the amount of paint needed on the roller and how to get the best results. We had three rooms of orange peel and one room of flat surface. The orange peel required another back and forth compared to the flat surface but that is no big deal. Cut in time was cut into a quarter of the usual time required and the quality of the cut-in is actually better than 20 years of hand cut-in. HIGHLY recommended. I can guarantee from this day forward I will own one and give others for gifts.

I usually don't go use these items due to past experience. They tend to cause more work than help. This was a different story, it saved me a ton of time and money on using painters tape. With a little practice and finesse it was a big help edging the ceiling and walls with minor touch up needed after use. The paint block or edger is only on one side, so it is a bit awkward on corners, but it can be done with some practice. Cleaned up easy and the extra rollers were nice as we were painting with two different colors - ceiling / walls. I will use again and recommend it for anyone wanting to save time taping and touch up.

Wish I had this a long time ago. This made quick work of cutting in everywhere I could use it. Used it along the ceilings, floor trim, windows, and doors. Did a great job. Watch the youtube videos for tips - like making sure you don't have paint on the guard. Has a few drawbacks - can't get all the way into corners, I couldn't use it along a ceiling that had a at a 30 degree angle. You do need to load it carefully so you don't overload the roller and get paint on the unit. This will save you time and if you are used to taping up a room - money. If I was going to be doing a lot of painting, I'm upgrade to the pro model, but for the occasional painting of a room at home, this is perfect.

I ran across the Edge Master on the internet, ordered it, and have been very happy with it. At first, my wife kept saying that it would never work, and was she ever surprised! Now she can't stop raving about how well it works and how much time it saved us. We just finished painting a rec room in our basement - about 25 x 20 - and we were able to paint the whole thing in under an hour, including the little bit of brushing in the corners where the Edge Master doesn't get. I know that some other reviewers have disliked the fact that the Edge Master doesn't get all the way to the corner, but we did not find that to be a big problem. We were still able to fly through the painting job several times faster than if we had to cut in by hand.
We appreciated the fact that the rollers and brushes can all be washed out and used again, which seemed better than some other systems that require you to buy new pads every time you want to paint. We found that using ½ cup fabric softener to one gallon warm water worked great on cleaning out the rollers and brushes (a little trick I learned from Brian Santos, the Wall Wizard).
One trick I do with my rollers and brushes is to put them into a plastic bag overnight and put them into the freezer, to save time washing them out at the end of the day. With the Edge Master, my advice would be to put just the roller into a plastic bag at the end of the day, NOT the entire Edge Master. I did that at first, and managed to get paint all over the shield, which I later had to clean off. The little brush is small and easy enough just to wash out, so I don't think that it's necessary to go through the trouble of putting it into a plastic bag.
The instructions say not to let the paint dry out in the bristles (which we accidentally did) and we were still able to get the paint out of the bristles and use the brush again.
It worked very well around the walls, doors, and windows. We tried it around the fire alarm and the light switch plates and outlets, but there was not enough of a lip for the Edge Master to ride properly. In the end, we ended up just removing the light switches and taping over the outlets.
We have found that the fastest way to paint a room with the Edge Master is to have one person cutting in the edge and another person coming along and rolling out the wet edge and rolling the rest of the wall. That way you get a perfect rolled texture all the way across the wall, with no ridges or drips. As my wife points out, it is a better texture than with a brush (you get all the brush marks) or with a pad (you get the banding along the wall with a pad).
The only real downside to buying the Edge Master is that now my wife wants to paint the entire house!!

So I saw the same reviews you did. Or may have. Some people (professionals) were playing the tool down. Well, good for them. They know how to cut-in / edge with a brush. I DON'T. i'm pretty bad at it, especially along the ceiling. This tool worked like a champ. AND, I did it on a heavy texture wall. You will need to keep good paint on there, and run it back and forth many times to get the edge final, but it works. I was really impressed. Would be great if they made the wheels a little stronger. I never broke them, but sounded like I was going to when pressing against the tool and rolling on texture to get the edge. Very happy with the tool. Well worth to the penny! I painted an 1800 sq/ft house by myself with this tool.

My wife and I were planning on painting a large family room and hallway with six framed doors, a suspended ceiling and lower mouldings. I hate taping and spending that time on such a boring procedure. I checked on several tools to perform the edge job. I decided on this tool. It arrived with plenty of replacement rollers and several edge brushes. My wife stated "that will never work"! Well I'm here to tell you this is an amazing device. Strongly reccomend purchasing it. Go with the pro model if possible to add an extension if needed. I love using tools that make a job easier. Fantastic engineered products. Maybe the next advancement will include a shield to be used on both sides and maybe a smaller one for tight spaces. Either way it is a must buy. LOVE IT.
