I've been using this for nearly a month. I got it to keep my dogs from rooms they aren't allowed in and to replace an older metal gate with something quieter. It is opened and closed SEVERAL times a day and is holding up flawlessly. I'm very happy with it. Because of the way I had to install it so the small dogs couldn't go under it, the bottom clip isn't used, more just to support so they can't push through. At some point I will likely get a piece of wood to mount the bracket so both clips are usable, but for me, it works. Very nice quality and even though I don't need the locking feature, it's nice to have it.

We have metal banisters at the bottom of our stairs that made it nearly impossible to use a tension type baby gate to keep our one year old from going up the stairs. I was trying to avoid installing exta parts to our banister just to use a baby gate so I tried this out using heavy duty zip ties to secure the hardware to the rails and it worked! I've had the gate in place for about 3 weeks and opened and closed it at least 10 times a day and it's still very sturdy! I wouldn't recommend this type of application for top of the stairs or if you have a child that would try to climb on or hang from the gate (this would have not worked for my now 3 year old when he was 1 year- it would've likely broken by now). This functions well for how we need it and looks nice and sleek enough when it's both opened and closed.

I spent a lot of time looking for baby gates for our all hardwood, four story house when we first found out we were expecting. I really wanted something with a screen and that didn't have a bar across the bottom for fear of tripping on it while holding our baby. I love that this meets both criteria and more! The screen glides really nicely and the hooks can be configured multiple ways based on your preference. I LOVE that you get several sets of hardware so you can very easily unclip the retractable gate from the wall mounts and move somewhere else in the house. Its very simple and extremely practical. My only complaint is that the drywall anchors didn't hold up for long, but to be fair under normal circumstances I think that might have - we have a dog that clawed at the base of it long enough it finally gave in. that said, we replaces the drywall anchors with metal self screwing anchors and it is super secure! I could hang from it and it wouldn't budge. In all, I am really impressed and definitely recommend!

I find these retractable gates often to be more complicated than they need to be, but this one is easier than the other two we have in the house. You could even open/close it with one hand, which is more than I can say for the others. The biggest thing to get used to is having to push down and twist the lock after latching the gate. Easy enough. Looks good, keeps the kid safe, I recommend it!

Nice gate. Exactly what I expected. My home is very old and nothing is square, so the bottom latch is not tight and the top is, so my cat escapes under it. Also consider your trim for installation. If you have trim, consider that because when installed, the gate will not be low enough for sneaky cats :) otherwise, it works very well, is very sturdy, and keeps the dogs out of the kitchen! it is really easy to pull out and close off the doorway and to release. I highly recommend. I love that it comes with a second set of brackets so that you can easily move it from one doorway/stairway to another while using one gate for the same price. very happy with it!

This is such a great compact device. I got it for my dog who has a tendency to run right out the door whenever I open it or leave it open just enough for her to open herself and run through. This comes with everything you need to set this up, it just takes a bit of patience and you'll be able to use this in just a few minutes after opening. It also comes with another set of brackets so you can move the gate around or need to change it to separate your pets/babies from a different section of the house. I'm now able to set up a barrier that works over a much greater distance without having to deal with setting up baby gates that end up cracking or splintering over time or just won't fit because of how they are designed. This gate is also easier to "take down" and readjust without having to find a space for it to be put away or getting lost or damaged when not in use.

I bought this for my baby sister because she loves to go up and down the stairs. My dad installed it at the bottom of the stairs because the baby gate they had doesn't stay in place. Any time someone of my siblings go upstairs, they forget to close it afterwards so that the baby doesn't go up by herself. She is not even a year old so it is scary for her to go up by herself. After installing this gate, they no longer forget, and the baby doesn't go upstairs by herself. We love that the material is mesh so it is soft and see-through, I just wish there was a white color instead of black. Installation was easy and quick, taking about 10 minutes.

We love this retractable gate. This is so much better than our old school metal gate, which always carry a hazard ofour baby's head being stuck. Our Dog would go through. This item solves that. And when it's not in use, it's like nothing is there, unlike traditional gates. It's more better to look at when not in use. I think this is the future. Also, it's super easy to use.

Easy retractable dog gate that's child friendly! We needed a gate to keep our big 80lb dog from sneaking upstairs when we are out or the kids forget to close the bedroom door. The biggest reason for this purchase was to install a gate that's discreet (see pic of gate not closed) and not bulky but super easy for my kids 4 & 7 year old to use (open and close) as well. It's easy for them to open it and close it, it's not the sturdiest gates for a dog that may try to jump or go through it since it's see through which is also a plus for us. Our dog would never try and jump over it because she's not a jumper.

Lux gate that goes with our decor. If you're a picky person like me that loves form function and beauty together this is the gate for you. We were tired of only finding ugly looking babygates that make your whole house look hideous. This one is made right, trust me I'm an engineer! Ha! The materials are better than most gates we've used, the locking mechanism is hard for kids to figure out. I'll post another review or update this in a month after more extensive testing.

It comes with the template on the box to guide in drilling the holes to install the gate. Being a retractable gate , it saves space compared to those conventional ones. Great use to restrict baby and dogs from going into an area.

This gate is really useful and looks pretty classy (if you must have a dog gate up, it's not bad). Where it is set up in my house, I was surprised to find out I can set up two sets of clips and now I can use it in two directions. I can close the hall off entirely or just my closet, depending on my need for the day! I'd definitely recommend it.

This product was very useful for my purposes. The gate is basically like a side mounted roller shade. You pull it out and across the opening and catch the two plastic loops on the two plastic hooks, then twist the lock on the top of the roller mechanism. Visitors were impressed with this gate and inquired about it.

Works perfectly for the top of the stairs and came with extra brackets so you have one gate but can use in multiple spots. Well worth the money to keep the little ones safe from falling down the steps.

I love this gate so much! I have two pug puppies and we have a laundry room that has two litter boxes for our cats. We needed to keep the pups out of there but not make it hard for us to go in and out. This does just that. It is easy to install and works great!

I love the idea of having a baby gate that is attached to the wall and is mesh. This way even my dog will stay away from it. I also love that I can take the entire baby day off and just leave the hardware. Because I put the baby gate outside on my porch this will be perfect when I know that my baby is not going to be outside so it doesn't get messed up from the weather. It's very very easy to use and I love that it locks in place so that when my baby is big enough he won't lean against it and stretch it out and possibly fall. Overall I think it's a very handy gate and I would purchase again if I needed another one. The install was great, I love that it comes with extra Hardware so you can place it in different places in your house.

This pet/kid gate works amazingly well and I love that I can block off 2 different areas (not at the same time though). We got this to keep our dog in our kitchen when we are gone but also we needed a gate to keep her from going in our basement. This is a perfect solution. It took my husband about 30 min to install. The ruler on the box is really nice to ensure the proper height of the hardware installation. Included is a few spacers to adjust for trim width discrepancies and we had to uninstall once to add another spacer. I think it・・s esthetically pleasing as well with the rose gold tones.
