Best investment I've made in our gardens yet. What attracted us to this place were the many perennial gardens that the owner had established. We were not gardeners, but we vowed to learn and to keep up the great work the previous owner had done. It's four years later and our friends tell us we're doing the job to keep the gardens looking great. But not without some lessons learned.

There is nothing so disheartening as coming out into the vegetable garden to find some critter has destroyed your plants and eaten the fruit of your labors! These motion activated systems really work! Not only do they spray water, they also make a noise, which adds to the effect. And this version also works at night, when many critters are out and about. Decades ago I invested in the original ScareCrow. These are cheaper and also work at night. I am excited about gardening again. I bought three and have linked them with pieces of hose so they are positioned around the garden. Before installing, there were footprints in the garden and the peas were destroyed. After installing, all is well!

It works but kind of cheap and weak pipe connectors, sometimes the unit pops of the pipe, I modified slightly and now works great, it's a good thing that I'm a mechanic so I knew how to fix.
Coen
It took me a while to figure out why it was not working even if I left it outside under the sun for a day.
You got to open the battery compartment to connect the battery pack to the solar panel.
Once this step is done, it’s very easy to adjust and so far it’s wirking well. I don’t know for how long cause I should say I find it a bit flimsy !

it works great! the motion sensor is very sensitive and can detect bigger things like humans. i have a deer problem. and i was looking for something that works 24/7. my garden was a salad for the deers, and i wasn't going to quit that easy. i wanted something that could detect large objects. so i ordered 4 Orbits and we set it to detect large objects and it works. i have 2 mini dachshunds that can enter the protected area without being detected. if i pass by just close to the edge of Orbits field it goes off without a hitch soaking me with water. it's fast. and the arc of the spray is long. so we set the Orbits around to see if they work without supervision. the deers favorite is a shrub which blooms white flowers constantly. they have eaten almost all of the flowers and the poor shrub has been damaged at the top.

I have been using this product for several days now and have seen results in such a short time! I live in the country and my front yard is not fenced in. Quite a few rabbits, as well as quail have been using my lawn as a salad bar. I would be somewhat OK with that (Less lawnmowing), but I am trying to re-seed a few areas that is dead. I was losing a battle. . .

Worked perfectly as just as advertised. Pepe LePew has been camping out in my backyard for several summers. He enjoys digging in the grass, stopping only long enough to give my Yorkie a face full of his special Skunkie perfume every week or so. I called the city in, and they set a live trap that did not interest Pepe in the least. This spring he woke up and promptly had 20 or so babies under my shed and quickly taught them the ways of lawn ruination and Yorkie blasting. I was at my wit's end....I live within the city limits or I would have been sending Pepe and all his babies across the Rainbow bridge.

I've got a good size garden - ended up planting corn this year. About a month before the corn was ready to eat I noticed a stalk was down. Upon further investigation I found a half eaten ear of corn. I only had about 100 stalks of corn and I didn't want to risk losing anymore to hungry trash pandas. After about an hour of reading on Google, I decided to buy this motion activated sprinkler. After setting it up, I never lost another ear of corn. I rigged up a trail cam on a t-post to verify the trespassers were in fact raccoons. There were in fact 4 of them that I caught on camera. Several images were captured as the raccoons were getting sprayed.

We'll soon have big atemoya crop ripening after a season of careful hand-pollinating. In previous years we lost a lot to the local raccoons, skunks, opossums, rats, ground squirrels, red squirrels, rabbits, etc. Our first Yard Enforcer is in another garden area, and we considered moving it to our orchard (two trees), but that would leave the garden unprotected, so buying a second one was the obvious answer. These things are relatively expensive, but the cost is more than compensated for by how well they work. We have had literally no garden damage since installing our first Yard Enforcer.

I bought this to get rid of the cats pooping in my yard and it works as can be seen in the video. It scares the hell out of them - the surprise, the sound it makes, and the water. They run for their lives. Installing it was a little tricky but it was worth the effort. The hose outlets are 5/8 inches while my watering system is all 3/4 inches, so I had to order special adapters to have it all fit together.

Bought to discourage a cat from leaving unwanted “presents” in our yard. It worked perfectly without harming the cat. Let’s just say the cat doesn’t come by anymore.

Base is too short. falls over had to tie to steel pipe. connections loosen off when in motion and leaks water. can't be just hand tight. After problems fixed Works great
Irene Briggs
Looks well made, though the fact that it is nearly all plastic did make me a bit skeptical of its lifespan. Functions as described. As one other reviewer stated, it would be nice is the length of time it runs once triggered could be set longer. I also was not able to make the range limiting cap piece go low enough to actually limit the range. It doesn't look like a defect in manufacture but rather one of design. The range can still be limited by the small plastic screw that can break up the water stream. In addition to working as advertised, it's rather fun to mess with--or maybe I'm just easily amused. It might be a fun diversion for the kids to try to dodge it on a hot summer day.

This is the only thing we have found that keeps our neighborhood deer from munching our oak leaf hydrangea to the ground. I don’t put my delicate plants in full view of the deer (hey, they were here first, and it’s bad form to taunt them), and the deer have to go through a lot to get within nibbling range, but they do, and the result is just tragic. Bottom line? This is the best solution to create an obnoxious environment where the deer just say “naw, man, imma go next door and eat all the other plants.” WIN.
Lily
Works great. Easy setup. Keeps the deer away and dont have to keep replacing batteries like on out other one. Used one summer so far.

For many years I have had a problem with local deer invading my yard and chewing up some of my favourite and sometimes expensive plants. I am an avid collector of Japanese Maples, and while the deer ignore some of the cultivars, they positively love others. I having chanced upon this product, I decided to give one a try. After watching deer turn and run upon activating, I bought five more. In my back yard, I set up four of them to provide a barrier, and it worked brilliantly all summer and fall. The other two went in the front yard and worked well there too. I suspect that the sound and suddenness of them activating is most responsible for spooking the deer.

I live in an area where people let their cats run wild and use my front lawn and flower beds for their potty box. I've trapped them and taken the to the humane society, who takes them and releases them back into our neighborhood. I've spread moth balls, sprinkled my lawn with red pepper and performed a number of other home remedies to get rid of them, none of them worked. After installing this in my front yard, I've not had a single incident. I did catch a cat sitting on the sidewalk outside the fence staring at the sprinkler and that made my heart skip a beat. If you suffer from neighborhood cats as I have, get this thing. It works.
Carlo Lamb
I have a large garden and live in an area frequented by deer, raccoons, groundhogs, rabbits, etc. After trying nearly everything, I found motion-detecting sprinklers to be the best solution for keeping hungry critters away. I first had Scarecrow brand sprinklers, but they declined in quality over the years. The newer ones leaked and were not very sensitive.
Wojciech Ray
I was hesitant to order this because of the cost, but after researching several, decided I'd give it a try. I live in the country and my neighbor's cat hops our fence and kills the wild bunnies on our property, usually right in front of my house. The neighbor doesn't care, so I thought this might deter the cat from coming onto our property.

I bought this two days ago and decided to order another one this morning! I'd tried almost everything to get rid of strays cats in my backyard. So far nothing works until I found this Motion Activated Sprinkler! For me, the price is pretty pricy but it does the job. Within ONE DAY, there are no more cats in my backyard. Well, they all moved to the front of my house instead; But that's why I'm buying a second one for the front also. I highly recommend this product.

It has kept my front yard from being the neighborhood "cat box" from the day I installed this Yard Enforcer. I used to come out and find cat crap in my yard, and stains on my house from all the tomcats marking their territory, along with cat fights at night. Not any more. It takes some fiddling to get it adjusted , but it works. The only problem I have with it is that you must turn up the sensitivity to high in order for it to identify small animals. That means that every person, care, bicycle, etc, that goes down the street activates the Yard Enforcer. A small price to pay for no more cats in my yard!

I love this thing and I waited entirely too long to set it up. After observing people n the Ring Cameras walking their dogs through my corner lot of solitude, I had enough. It works great and now I get a chuckle as the perpetrators actually stop on the sidewalk trying to decide if I'm watering the grass and creating a deterrence! Highly recommend if you have inconsiderate dog owners in your neighborhood. For some reason, that seems to be a common theme with crappy neighbors.

So this thing works well. Good motion detect. Overall does a great job. I wish it was a bit taller. The 30 minute watering cycle doesn’t seem to work... it just comes on for a second then shuts off. I didn’t spend much time messing with that function as I don’t intend on using it. I may have a settings issue? I tested it by walking around and setting it off... which was fun with my 7 yo daughter ... and it works well. The first week, I heard it trip off several times at night... but that died down. I was wondering if the thing was still working so walked out to test it and got a shot of water in the face. So... yes.. still working. I think critters learn not to mess with my garden and stay away after a few attempts. So... yea. Good going. I like it.

Install a week after the significance is this thanks range yet do please in cat poop there should be good

Easy to put together and works great at keeping the deer out of my garden!
Fabian Appleton
I Have used these before and they are great with deer, turkeys, peacocks, cats and even crows
Tierney Mccallum
It did chase deer and racoons away for now, but we will see if it is permeate.
It leaks around the inlet, so I will make a hookup out of PVC that is more watertight and easier to get to.
Marco Andrade
Good product, works well to scare small animals

It works! After years of trap-catching opossums and raccoons that were destroying my patio plants and zippered mosquito netting on my 10' x 10' Gazebo, I searched for other methods of deterrents. I read good reviews about this "Orbit motion activated Sprinkler", bought one and set it up at the entry of my deck/patio. I've been opossum and raccoon FREE since I bought it! It only requires AA batteries and is simple to set up; just adjust the motion detector to the height and range-of-sight that you want (30 feet range for me), poke the detector inside the ground and set the timer. The timer can be set for "daytime", "night time", or "all day". I have mine set for "night time" which allows me to work in my flower beds/landscape without setting off the motion detector and getting sprayed. When it detects movement, it blasts a hard intermittent spray of water with a 'ticking' sound that alarms the invaders. I have not noticed any increase in my water bill, because the water only comes on when there is motion detected and it only sprays for about 30 seconds (you can set the sprayer for shorter or longer time if you like). The housing is made of hard plastic with a metal poke - it's pretty solid. I LOVE this device.

The deer are relentless in my area, most years I only get to look at the chewed stumps of my hostas in front of my house. First year trying the Yard Enforcer and I can say that it does the job!

Thank You!

We heard it activate at night a lot at first, but now rarely as the critters learned to avoid it. We added a second sprinkler to it to widen its range and could probably add even more with our great water pressure. For these now permanent installations, we're using Forever Steel Garden Hoses. I was disappointed that their small diameter couplers limited their flow rate so much, but they work well enough for this purpose and seem to be unaffected by being under constant high pressure and daily sunlight. Water is so expensive and precious in our arid semi-desert, we didn't want to find out the hard way that a standard rubber hose had weakened and blown up over night or while we were out of town. Bottom line: A "set it and forget it" effective but harmless animal deterrent. Just remember it's on before you wander into range. You'll only do that once!

This thing is great. keeps my garden and property free of pests. Mostly deer and bear. I had a massive problem last year with deer. They ruined my garden. I swore to myself i wasnt going to let that happen again. And with this IT WONT. As i said. I wanted to get rid of the deer, but this got rid of our bear too. He doesnt flip our trash cans any more after i installed this. MOVE IT OCCASIONALLY. Dont let animals get used to its position. Every week or something, move it. I move it when i water. Just a few feet is enough to keep them on their toes. It is built well. It has so many features it is mind boggling. Read through the instructions. They are great. I was able to toss it together in a matter of minutes, put some NICE rechargeable in it, and it was up and shootin. If you have plants, or a garden you care about, you need to own one of these, or Orbits great products. I am an Orbit man now. I use their automated watering systems in all varieties. their products will never let you down, and if they do, their customer service department WILL NOT! buy cheap, receive a heap, buy Orbit, you wont

After many years of having a koi pond in the city, this year a younger crane arrived in midsummer to eyeball his personal sushi menu !! I researched immediately, selected this item and haven't had a problem since. How my pond is located and the only place I have to install this, it does shoot over the yard fence so I'm sure a few have been sprayed if it happened to be triggered at the pond as someone walked by on sidewalk I did post a warning note on both facing gates that a sensor was activated and it also took a while for me to remember it being there, as departure to or from the house could set it off if it wasn't deactivated Also, thankfully my dogs are smaller and didn't set it off while they were outside but visiting dogs did get quite a start when they walked by it from or to house

First I was skeptical about this sprinkler, but once I received it and installed it I have been impressed. It saved my newly planted fig and lemon trees from deer that usually show up around 3AM looking for snacks... I definitely will (and already have) recommend this motion activated sprinkler to anyone who needs an effective and humane deterrent. It also works on squirrels, raccoons and anything that gets in range and this includes birds.... both the sound and the water coming from the sprinkler head will get them stunned and running for dear life... even wondering/curious people who get close to our new fruit trees tend to get a nice cold quick shower! kids love to play around it on hot days. Only thing I wish that can be added to it is the ability to use it on a sprinkler tripod as an option for better stability... the metal ground stick it comes with is fine but tends to come little loose if the grounds are wet due to rain and the unit starts to wobble. Not a big deal as I am sure there can be ways to control this issue, but something to consider. Otherwise it's a great item and a must have for those who have deer and other backyard visitors. Hope it lasts for a long time.

I have a giant blue heron that continually stalks my koi in my koi pond. They are smart and determined predators. Nothing deters them when they hunt for fish. They wait until the area is clear, then swoop down a they can empty an entire koi pond of fish in a day. This product has finally evened the battle. It's incredibly easy to setup and it's amazingly sensitive. Nothing gets by this sensor, even 50+ feet away. My pond is finally protected since this shoots the heron the moment it gets near the pond. Wonderful product and easy to setup! Highly recommend!

There are a group of pigeons in my neighborhood who use my jacuzzi as their personal birdbath. I needed something to deter them, so I thought a motion activated sprinkler would do the trick. The first product I purchased had a design flaw so I sent it back. This item cures the design flaw and worked flawlessly. On the first item I purchased, water dripped down from the sprinkler in front of the sensor, causing it to keep activating. With this model, the sensor sits in front of the sprinkler, so when water drips down, which it will do, it does so behind the sensor. There are a lot of other features on this item I like; there is a 10-second delay after it activates before it activates again, so even if water did drip in front, it would be finished before the 10 seconds was up. There is also the ability to set the time the length of time the sprinkler will activate. I just needed to scare the pigeons so the least time of 3 seconds was sufficient. It can be set for as much as 10 seconds. There is also the ability to tilt and rotate the sensor, making sure it is focused on the area of importance. I no longer have a pigeon problem. They do not use my jacuzzi anymore. Every once in a while, one tries to swoop in, but he gets blasted. This device was a great detterant.

I had thrown out some Zoyia seeds last year and happy to see they had sprouted and were growing nicely in our horrid central Texas dirt/rock. One morning I noticed a bunch of holes had been dug which uprooted my Zoysia. Thinking it was an armadillo, i put out deterrents but soon found out it was a shrunk after our dogs unfortunately cornered one late at night. I tried everything from ammonia to premixed spray deterrents. They probably just laughed at me! The last straw was after digging his holes he made his way into our large shed and helped himself to our kitties food and apparently washed himself in her water bowl! Although I did get accidentally sprayed by this device when setting it up I have not seen a hole for over 3 weeks now, yeah!! I hear it go off at night so I know the shrunk didn't just go elsewhere. Highly recommend but wish I didn't need it.

We have been having a problem with stray kittens wandering in our backyard looking for food, walking on the counters, sitting in the sink and using my garden as their litter box. We had tried everything from deterrent pellets, scat mats, and ultrasonic sensors, but they still kept coming in. Now, since these are street cats, who knows what diseases they may have and depositing their waste into my vegetable garden was unacceptable. The city refused to do anything about it so it was up to us to try and solve this annoying issue. I went on the internet to search how to keep cats out of your yard and I came across this motion sensor sprinkler. It was worth a try. We bought 2, unfortunately 1 of them doesn't work and will be sending it back but the other one worked like a charm! Ever since it was installed, we have yet to witness a cat wandering around in our backyard. I'm so glad that we found this product and wish that we had found it sooner. We would have saved a lot of money if we hadn't tried the other methods.

After years of shooing our chickens out of the flower beds (why is it like a magnet for them?) and lamenting the damage they'd do every year, this was a solution that finally worked! After enough times of getting scared off by the water spray, the chickens don't even get near the flowers any longer and the flowers get extra water, too! If you have free-ranging chickens and want to somehow still have nice cultivated flower beds, this is probably one of the few things that will work. Highly recommend.
Tevin Blanchard
Bought this to keep the wild turkeys off of our landscape. Motion detection is very sensitive and can adjust the filed of spray fairly easily. However, on top of the very high quality electronic mechanism, Orbit decided to put the cheapest plastic sprinkler head which was essentially useless. I purchased a better metal sprinkler head and now I can control the exact coverage of the spray. My neighbors appreciate not getting hit by spray when walking their dogs past our house. I love the fact that the sprinkler only comes on for a few seconds, just enough to scare away the birds without flooding the yard. The only other negative is the sensitivity of the motion detector is that cars driving by our house set it off, but that is acceptable trade off.
Tre Nash
I bought this after realizing I've been waking up at 7, then 6 and as early as 4am to chase away whatever is digging up my grass seeds and newly laid sod. I know squirrels are the culprit but also think it could be a possum or raccoon that's looking for grubs/worms In the middle of the night. Anyways, after getting totally wet setting it up for the first time (wife too!), the first and every night after has been a success! I have it set up under the trampoline and on night mode. I just ordered one more to guard another corner of the lawn.

We have been enjoying watching the cats RUN on our yard-cam! In our very urban area, houses packed all together, the cats just poop in the middle of the grass, seemingly best if it's newly mown. Our revenge is sweet. We have accidentally sprayed neighbors on their Coved 19 walks. They have laughed and continue to ask us to set it up when we have forgotten to set it up after mowing. The animals don't habitually poop in our yard any more. We can enjoy the neighbors again without being resentful after picking up their pets poop.

If you want to get rid of cats wandering around your property ... buy this thing. I tried a bunch of natural deterrents and did nothing. I got rid of cats pooping on my front yard mulch. Motion sensing is a bit hit or miss. I have the range to almost nothing and got cars or people walking like 30 ft away so you kinda have to point it down. Again for some people, this would be ideal but there is not much control over the sensitivity range. I wish it had a setting to use even less water as sometimes you could get some false readings ( cars ). Honestly, I'm not trying to complain about this product as I no longer have to be smelling cat poop when I open my front door every day. Lastly, the form factor for 'small' animals I was not able to reproduce even with the information on the instructions ... seems that is not really an option based on videos and instruction images.

For years I've tried nearly every deer deterrent available (sprays, pellets, predator blood powders, urine, plastic netting, and electrical frequency deterrent systems) with each new "solution" never fully succeeding -- until I moved to deterrent sprinklers. The Scarecrow worked well for two years then began to leak even though I was careful to bring indoors before winter. In 2017, I moved to the very well constructed and designed Yard Enforcer and feel I've finally succeeded in this decades long search. This year is year 3 with no complaints. My yard is on the edge of 30 acres of undeveloped Douglas fir and Garry oak forest habitat in the Willamette Valley of OR. I encounter deer daily.

When we first got it there was a part that didn't work so we called them and they sent a replacement part. Well it turns out that one was also defective and so they replaced that and it now works great. It keeps chipmunk s out away from our fruit trees and it also keeps the squirrels and birds from getting near them. I have to say our dog now knows her boundaries. Love it. Thanks you guys for taking the time to send us the replacements. Like a company that stands behind it's product

I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone having critter issues. I have/had a problem with Sand Hill cranes chewing up the lawn. They definately hate these sprinklers and it's fun to see them leave when they trip the sensor. The only problem that I found is that because they detect both heat and motion, when the sun comes up and shines directly on the sensor, it triggers. In my situation, that's ok because the grass that was destroyed is coming back because if the short bursts of water. Sand Hills seem to be pretty smart, because once they figure out the detection area, they avoid that area. Periodically moving the sprinkler has kept them in check. No more destruction of the lawn since I set up two of these units. Just a note, however; in Florida they are protected birds, so check with your local regulations first. I had to obtain a permit from the state to chase them.

We've been having issues with stray kittens wandering in our backyard looking for food, walking on the counters, sitting in the sink and using my garden as their litter box.

Worked GREAT. Raccoon came around a few times after we got it set up, but never defecated again. Eventually stopped coming by. We've had it up all summer and turned on for night time with water just in case. We turn off connect water source each morning. We've gotten wet a few times ourselves, but it has held up. This first hose didn't but opted for one that didn't kink or weigh the device down since I had to find away to secure it (no ground to stick it in). Velcro and a secured bird feeder hook worked well.
